Twin Towers, I Miss You...

Unfortunately, I only really appreciated the magnificence of the Twin Towers after they were gone. I keep going through old photos from my two trips to NYC as a tourist and then the ones over the two years we were lucky enough to live there. I wish I'd taken more shots of all the smaller details. To think I'll never have that opportunity again, it's one of the biggest reasons I appreciate my surroundings so much more today.

I thought I'd share with you the ones I did take and that are special to me.

My thoughts and love are with everyone who lost someone special. May your heart be slowly mending. Px

Our Wedding day. December 18, 1997. We were married at City Hall and we walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to take these shots. I couldn't imagine these photos without the World Trade Center in the background.

Walking back together on the Brooklyn Bridge

One of my favourite shots

Hard to see it, but this is actually a 3-D photo

Another favourite. I used the towers so many times a day to orientate myself, especially as I popped out of the subway station

The photos below are from our first trip to NYC in 1993. Tim and I knew then, we'd one day live there

The plaza outside the front of the towers was a cold and sterile place. This was taken on our first trip in 1993

Still brings tears to my eyes.... I flew on the morning of September 11th here... the morning after it all happened. It is the one and only flight I have ever worked in almost complete silence. Love your photos and memories. x
